This will Be Great Stuff for the Blog

9 Days out of 10 something happens that makes me repeat in my mind "They are only children, they are only children."
For example. .. this week I have been working on a project which has required me to allow some freedom to the crazy people. On their first night of freedom they played so very sweetly. When finally it was time for bed I went down with praise on the tip of my tongue for their good behavior but before I could get it out I saw this

I think an "Oh my gosh" escaped my lips instead. .. then I ran up for the camera. I can't wait until my grandchildren do these kinds of things. I will have so much proof that their parents were every bit as destructive. When I returned I found them all hiding and I made them clean up every last thing. Evil mother! Funny, when I asked them "Why, oh why would you do this?" they replied that they were trying to build a hut. I don't get it either. . . that looks nothing like a hut to me.

I wish I could say that their ways were changed after that. .. but, alas. . . this would be a lie. For the next day as I worked on my project Emily walked into my room like this

Apparently I forgot to put away the Hersey's syrup after we made chocolate milk at dinner. I am willing to take 5% of the blame.

Oh yea, and then there was the day I heard strange bumping noises in the bathroom only to find Ben doing this

He has some major potential to become a rock climber.

Finally tonight, I smelled an unpleasant odor which I recognized immediately as a bad problem since Emily is finally having some success toilet training and is now wearing panties all the time. She has mastered number one, but not so much number 2. However, she is a sweet girl and tries very hard to be grown up so she obviously thought she could take care of the mess herself. . .you can just imagine from there. I won't give you the details.

But, through all of this, I am lucky because I have a blog. I can always say to myself as I calm down. . . this will be great for the blog.

My kids do the same thing when I leave them unattended. I am not sure if it is better that they are quiet or not as most of the huge messes come from quiet kids.

Next time you come down this way and have time you should call and we could go to lunch.

Ah yes, I know how you feel. So glad to have a blog to share those moments. My little savages have been left to their own devices a lot because I've been working a ton lately & it makes me scared whenever I realize that I can't HEAR what they're up to!

I look forward to grandkid stories. My kids will deserve payback just like the payback we are receiving. I hope you get your project done without too many more entertaining blog posts.
