What Goes Up Must Come Down

Well, I did it. I finally got up the courage to go over to this brand new elementary school in my area. . . but not in my district. . .to try to get Ben enrolled there. I have been such a chicken thinking they would just stare at me. Anyway, I went in and told the secretary I wanted to enroll my boy there. She said that they were really full and the only way he would even have a chance would be if he was a second grader. I think I screamed for joy at her "He is a second grader!" I know I was just beaming. I am sure it was funny. Anyway, tomorrow I will go fill out some paperwork and get Ben in. I am really excited.

In other news, I got a call on this job I am hoping to get. I have an interview Thursday. I think this is a great option and will leave me some time to be a mom still. Your prayers are appreciated seeing as they want a spanish speaker. Perhaps you can all pray for me to get the gift tongues. HEHEHE.

So, it was a fabulous day. I was so excited I decided to take the kids to the mall. On the way I called my mom to tell her my good news. I was grinning ear to ear when I heard gagging noises from the back seat followed by full heaving. Emily threw up like 5 times. Oh well, it's impossible to go up without coming back down at some point. Not everything can go perfect. :)

So ... is that school supposed to look like a bear paw? That's pretty sweet. Congratulations on getting in! We're starting a new school tomorrow, too - Haley keeps going back and forth between being excited and wanting to stay at the school she was at last year. I hope we made the right decision.

Good luck on the job! You know, you probably understand a lot of Spanish just by knowing Italian. I feel like my understanding of Spanish shot up after taking Italian at the Y. (That's definitely not to say that I can actually speak either. I happened upon some of your mission letters when we moved that you'd written in Italian, and I got all depressed because I could understand them when you wrote them, and now I have not a clue what they say! Maybe you'll have to come and translate them for me sometime.)

Yeah, Spanish & Italian are really similar (though it's funny--I understand a lot of Spanish, but Spanish speakers don't understand ME...I try to not take it personally).

You were very brave to go to that school...I don't know that I would have, but that's awesome! I'm interested in a different district's "alternative education" center, and so I may have to be brave like you in a couple of years.

Well it's like I always say: "It's better to clean up throw-up when you're in a good mood, than to clean it up when you're in a bad mood."

OK, I have never said that before but it's probably true.

Good luck on the job and hope that Ben enjoys his new school!

I can tell I don't take the time to talk to you enough! We spend an afternoon at Mom's and yet I learn more about your life from your blog!! I'm a terrible sis-in-law...will repent! Did you hear back from the interview?
