Emily has amazing sense of smell these days. In the morning she comes to our room and climbs in bed with us. Soon after we hear "I smell something." This statement is always followed by gagging noises. Now, I understand that our morning breath may truly be gag provoking, but all day long this goes on. She gags at the smells of lotions, food, and virtually anything that she can smell. In church on Sunday we were sitting behind someone who put on some lotion. . . I thought it smelled nice. Emily pronounced her famous "I smell something." To which I said "It smells good." She looked at me with a disgusted face and exclaimed "No, it smells gross." Followed by the gagging. I don't know how her sense of smell does not help her abandon her smelly diapers for using the toilet. Then it would be useful.

A couple of my boys gag at any smell. It gets kind of embarrassing. One of them asked me how come adults go to bed smelling good and wake up stinking.
So cute picture. Maybe Emily can get a job as a kid K-9. You could make millions...
Oh, this story is all too familiar as I was just like Emily when I was younger. It drove my Mom nuts and whenever I wouldd tell her I smelled something she would reply in her always-patient voice: "We all know it smells, but you don't have to announce it!" So funny!
